Walking the Road of Life with Children
Orphans and vulnerable children have amazing gifts, talents, and potential, but the obstacles they face are great. Because Sweetwaters has the highest HIV/AIDS prevalence rate in the world, most children in the community do not live with their parents. Every child needs the support and encouragement of someone older and wiser to walk life's road with them, especially children in a community where abuse, poverty, and poor education are the norm.
That's where our mentors come in! Our mentors are nationals who have one goal: to show the kids the love of Christ. They do this in a thousand different way — teaching life skills classes in their schools, leading bible studies in the afternoon, visiting the kids in their homes and countless other things. Through this mentoring program orphans and vulnerable children are provided for emotionally, physically and spiritually.
