The children in Sweetwaters have amazing gifts, talents, and potential, but the obstacles they face are great. Because Sweetwaters has the highest HIV/AIDS prevalence in the world, most children in the community do not live with their parents. Every child needs the support and encouragement of someone older and wiser to walk life's road with them, especially children in Sweetwaters where abuse, poverty, and poor education are the norm. Research shows that one caring person can be enough to help children succeed in an adverse environment.
For lasting community transformation to occur, 60-70% of the target population needs to be reached. This "tipping-point" creates an environment where the majority of young people are well-educated and making wise decisions--establishing a new norm and making hopeful dreams a living reality.
We invite you to join us in this work of bringing hope to every child in Sweetwaters and playing a role in ending cycles of poverty, abuse, and limited role models. Learn more about the involvement of Restoration Hope below.

The Gospel is changing this generation through the teaching and truth shared by our mentors. Through donors like you, we are currently supporting three of these mentors. This year, our goal is to fund three additonal mentors. You can read more about these mentors and hear their prayer requests on our blog.
Restoration Hope aims to meet these needs, by funding mentors in the community of Sweetwaters. These mentors spend their days investing in the lives of kids and teens in the area by providing emotional and spiritual support. We are looking for churches, small groups, Sunday School classes, local businesses, and individuals to support a mentor that serves tirelessly in Sweetwaters each week. Because so few children live with a parent in this community, these mentors act as a consistent face of encouragement, an anchor of faith, and a teacher of values and morals.
